  • How long before my wedding should I start alterations?

    It is recommended that alterations start 1 to 3 months in advance, as most gowns will need 3 fittings. It is recommended to get scheduled once you purchase your gown.

  • Do I need to have shoes for my first fitting?

    Yes, but if they are still on the way a shoe with the same heel height will work for your first fitting. Your wedding shoes or shoes with a similar heel height are required for all fittings.

  • What is the difference between in the alterations process between gowns purchased in "my size" vs. an off the rack/sample gown.

    Surprisingly, less than you think! Most gowns will still need sides or the bust area taken in, waist or hip adjustments, a hem, and bustles to get your train off the ground at a minimum.

  • Can I bring guests to my fittings?

    Absolutely! In order to keep this special time easy and stress-free, it’s recommended to do so at your final fitting where they can be shown the bustle and any tips and tricks for day of.

  • Do you charge rush fees?

    No!

  • How much do bridal alterations cost?

    While the bridal alterations process will vary for each bride, the average range is between $300-$1,200 for standard alterations. For all appointments a fitting and quote will be given before work on your gown commences.

  • Do you do customizations?

    From lowering the back to detachable straps and even redesigning Mom’s vintage wedding dress, you provide the vision and I bring it to life!

  • Do I need a bustle?

    If your wedding dress has a train (the fabric that follows behind you), then you will need a bustle. This helps preserve your gown as well as providing mobility during your reception. I will show you and your loved ones or record a video on how your bustles works during your final fitting.

  • But what if I lose weight!? Will my dress still fit?

    This is a very common question when discussing the time frame of alterations and you are not to worry! Your dress will altered in steps over time, making adjustments when/ if necessary based on your body. Your final fittings is where all alterations are completed which should be scheduled a week or two before your wedding.
